Among the myriad of seasonally themed trips and events these past weeks, one lucky group of Woodhouse students got to visit something very special and very relevant to their A level course…
A level German students Jaimini and Maia told us “To satiate our interest in German culture, Ms Pari graciously organised a trip to the Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham, the largest most authentic market in the UK and the eptiome of german culture.
Amongst the wide variety of traditional food and drink there were numerous stalls and markets bedecked in warm lighting and christmas paraphenalia that truly encapsulated the winter spirit.
However the journey to get there was another story. Various tube strike and cancellations meant a 1 hour 45 minute trip lasted over two hours both on the way forward and back! Yet ultimately through all the stress (and against all odds) the trip was still a smashing success and thoroughly enjoyed by all parties.
Upon arrival we completed a lap of the market which was around 1 km long and encountered Santa on stilts! The photo opportunity was of course too good to be missed.
To get into the German spirit Max even wore a German-themed flower garland while we wandered through the market.
We are all so grateful for Ms Pari for taking us and we all had a wonderful time! We learned a lot about the beautiful German culture.”
Fröhliche Weihnachten
Einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!
